PHP Developer

Then we are looking for you. Vitec Memorix is looking for a driven PHP Developer who wants to contribute 32-40 hours per week to the further expansion of our activities.

Vitec Memorix makes innovative software for archives and museums to unlock collections through beautiful online solutions and linked open data. For 25 years we have been ensuring that history is preserved for the future.

A museum collection, an archive or a collection of natural history material, carries unique knowledge, connections and stories. Organizing a collection sustainably, connecting it and making it accessible creates new insights and ideas. Moreover, people can be amazed and learn new things.

Your role

As a PHP Developer at Vitec Memorix, you will focus on developing software solutions within a project or based on reported incidents. Together with the team, you provide advice and direction on the best solution for our customers. In addition:

  • You contribute to building complex applications in PHP, for example based on Laravel;
  • Help update applications and custom websites;
  • In doing so, you work with PHP, Nginx, Memcached, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Solr, Kubernetes, Docker and Laravel, among others;
  • And is the team responsible for implementations and migrations to and from our collection management system and developing tooling for it.

Your profile

As a PHP Developer at Vitec Memorix, you work independently and as part of a team. You like to develop yourself, not only professionally, but also personally. And you like to make time for that.
In addition, you possess:

  • At least 4 years of experience with object-oriented programming in PHP;
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL;
  • Experience with Laravel, Joomla! and/or Solr is a plus;
  • Experience working according to Agile (Scrum) is a plus;
  • Experience with Linked Data (RDF) is a plus;
  • Experience with CSS and javascript is a plus;
  • An active Github account is a plus;
  • A passion for beautiful and neat code;
  • HBO/academic working and thinking level;
  • Good command of the English language.


About the team

Vitec Memorix consists of about 35 people. Depending on the ongoing projects, you will be assigned to a project team. Such a team consists of several developers and a project manager or product owner.
