Medior Kotlin Developer

Memorix is ​​looking for a driven Medior Kotlin Developer for the team in Heerhugowaard who wants to contribute to the further expansion of our most innovative product ever: Memorix Nexus.

The Nexus Team is a super fun and close-knit team with a product owner, 4 developers, a tester and a UX/UI designer. We like a drink on Friday afternoon and during the breaks we like to play a game of table football. We work agile, in 2-week sprints, API-first and Linked Data by design.

We are developing our new collection management system Memorix Nexus in close collaboration with heritage institutions such as the Amsterdam City Archives and Erfgoed Leiden en Omstreek.

Memorix makes innovative software for archives and museums to unlock collections through linked open data. We have been ensuring that this history is preserved for the future for 25 years.

A museum collection, an archive or a collection of natural history material contains unique knowledge, connections and stories. By organizing a collection sustainably, connecting it and making it accessible, new insights and ideas arise, people can be amazed and learn new things.

Your role

As a Medior Kotlin Developer at Memorix, you focus on developing and maintaining our software solutions and products. The activities include:

  • Developing new functionalities and improving existing functionality in collaboration with the team and the product owner;
  • Thinking about improvements for the (medium) long term;
  • Supporting fellow developers;
  • Code reviews;
  • You will work with Kotlin, Postgresql, ElasticSearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, among others;
  • Our application runs on Kubernetes in a CI/CD pipeline using Gitlab and ArgoCD.

In addition, we ask:

  • Extensive experience with programming in Kotlin and/or other languages;
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL;
  • Knowledge or interest in RDF / Linked data;
  • Experience with devops;
  • Experience working according to Agile (Scrum);
  • An active Github account;
  • HBO/academic working and thinking level;
  • Good knowledge of the English language.
