Meet our colleague Mike de Decker
Mike De Decker started with us as a Developer last December. We would like to introduce him to you.
1. Developer, tell me! What are you doing?
“I am a PHP developer and that means that together with the team I ensure that all internal and external systems run smoothly. We ensure that no bugs emerge and that there is an optimal user experience for everyone who uses our websites.”
2. What do you like most about your job?
“It is always a challenge to solve problems. And that is exactly what I like so much about my work. A new puzzle every time and looking for the most efficient solution. I really enjoy it!''
3. What is your background?
“I have always been into computers and I followed the Application and Media Developer course. During this course I mainly developed myself in the PHP programming language, which is a backend language for websites, and I moved towards becoming a programmer. After my studies, I immediately started as a PHP programmer and mainly focused on the plug-in side of websites."
4. What do you like to do most in your spare time?
''I certainly don't sit still! I play sports a lot and I often work on my own programming projects at home, for example I created a bot that searches websites for free games. I am also a gamer and enjoy playing board games with my friends. Think of Settlers of Catan and card games such as Uno and Exploding Kittens.”
5. What do you hope to achieve at Vitec Memorix?
"I would like to grow into a senior role within Vitec Memorix. Together with my colleague Mike van den Berg, I have many ideas about certain things that we want to implement and improve. I hope to make big steps in this regard this year.”
